Now Available in Print…
Posted by Steve on Monday Mar 5, 2012 Under Uncategorized… as I’ve only just discovered, is The Best of Hammer and Bolter Year One. This was released as an e-book, but has now been committed to paper for all you traditionalists/collectors out there. It’s a hell of a book, too, with buckets of bolter-chewed content and an awesome cover of a Silver Skulls Space Marine – only fitting since Sarah Cawkwell, Silver Skulls specialist extraordinaire, has three stories in the collection (she’s certainly prolific). “What about Steve Parker stories?” you reluctantly inquire, knowing already that I probably wouldn’t be writing this post if I weren’t featured at least once. Well, I’m incredibly honoured to have both my previous Hammer and Bolter stories selected for the collection. That’s right, both Exhumed (Deathwatch) and Survivor (Imperial Guard… sort of) are featured in this hefty tome. Not quite as many as Sarah, but not too shabby. Of course, Exhumed is already available as a stand-alone e-book (HERE) for those who would rather pick and choose. And word is that Survivor will be getting a solo release very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that one.
If, on the other hand, you fancy owning them in hard-copy, The Best of Hammer and Bolter is certainly the way to go. Hit this link for more information, or click on the picture below.

Yay! Although I got the e-books, so I got to read all them awesome stories.
Segway: ME3 is so not what I expected it to be. So far through the third storyline mission, it almost seems like an attempt to get COD fans to play ME.
Sigh Bioware.

Hi Steve,
BAckgound quanstion: In your 1st Deathwatch story, do you mean that the Death Spectres gene-seed derives from Raven Guard with a slight mutation (albinism)?

Ooops! Mistyping…. that was supposed to read “Background question”. How did it end up like this???

@SGC: I’ll still give ME3 a shot (in due course). I’m a COD fan anyway, but I’m not into the whole ‘forced multiplayer for best ending’ thing. That seems a bad thing.
@Mortemer,
Yes, the Death Spectres were born of a 13th Founding derivation of Raven Guard geneseed… but the mutation in the Melanochrome is already present in Raven Guard. The mutation just goes further (red eyes, white hair) with the Death Spectres. Hope this helps.

Okay, just got through Tuchanka (no spoilers, hehe), and the game has REALLY picked up. All the little hints/references/easter eggs to things I did in the past w/my Shepard are pretty darn cool. Here’s to hoping that it doesn’t drop back down.
